Aston Martin has officially revealed the Valiant, an ultra-exclusive, track-focused, road-legal special edition created at the request of legendary Formula One driver Fernando Alonso. After driving the Valour, Alonso wanted a car that was lighter and more agile, prompting the team to craft a vehicle that perfectly balances weight reduction and high-performance engineering. Crafted by the in-house bespoke division, Q by Aston Martin, the Valiant is limited to just 38 units globally. This rare production run enhances its exclusivity and desirability, making it a true collector’s item.
The Valiant continues Aston Martin’s long tradition of developing highly collectible special edition models. The Valiant sits alongside iconic models such as the Valkyrie, Vantage, and the upcoming mid-engine supercar, Valhalla, ensuring it remains firmly in Aston Martin’s modern performance future.
At the heart of the Valiant lies a 735 horsepower 5.2-liter Twin-Turbo V12 engine, paired with a bespoke 6-speed manual transmission. This powerhouse delivers an exhilarating 555 lb-ft of torque, ensuring that the Valiant is as powerful as it is exclusive. The 6-speed manual transmission adds to the driving pleasure, allowing for precise and tactile gear changes that connect the driver intimately with the car.
The Valiant features a bespoke chassis specification with Multimatic ASV dampers and recalibrated electronics, optimizing it for enhanced track capability. These state-of-the-art dampers can adjust each damper to one of thirty-two discrete curves in less than six milliseconds, providing nearly limitless tuning possibilities for ride and handling characteristics. The advanced suspension system ensures that the Valiant remains composed and agile, whether on a winding road or a demanding racetrack.
The vehicle’s suspension enhancements and aerodynamic advancements required modifications to the Driving Modes (Sport, Sport+, and Track), ensuring drivers can experience the car’s full performance capabilities.
The all-carbon fiber bodywork of the Valiant is not only visually stunning but also functional, reducing weight and increasing downforce. The aerodynamic features, including a deep front splitter, full-width carbon fiber grille, and a prominent fixed rear wing, establish maximum stability and minimal drag. The design takes inspiration from the legendary ‘Muncher’ Le Mans racer, reimagined with cutting-edge materials and technology.
The scalloped side fenders and aero discs on the wheels reduce turbulence, while the rear diffuser minimizes drag and lift. Each aerodynamic component is meticulously designed to ensure that the Valiant slices through the air with maximum efficiency.
Inside, the Valiant’s interior reflects its track-focused nature. The lightweight, pared-back design enhances driver connection and focus. Exposed satin-finish carbon fiber, bespoke trimmed Recaro Podium seats, and the built-in half-cage for safety highlight the supercar’s racing pedigree.
The steering wheel, uniquely designed for the Valiant, features a slimmer diameter rim and no switches, ensuring intuitive control and zero distractions. The cutaway in the transmission tunnel exposes the gear linkage, highlighting the mechanical nature of the manual gearbox and adding to the overall tactile experience.
